When your home is "on the market", remember it is in a beauty contest with all the other homes on the market.  You want your home to stand out.  Make sure she has her lipstick on, and her hair is "fixed" (lol).

Tips for Staging:

De-clutter, De-clutter, De-lutter
Minimize family photos
Use neutral paint colors
Keep yard freshly mowed
Freshen up pinestraw or mulch
Plant flowers at front if weather permits
Clean your windows so as to sparkle
Vacuum your carpets daily
Be Certain there are no pet odors

Your goal is to get buyers to remember your house, not your things.

Getting your house in Shape
Getting your home ready to sell is where the real work kicks in!  This is truly where the rubber meets the road. How a house looks is directly related to how fast and for how much money it will sell.

There is no shortcut for the hard work involved. A house on the market needs to be so clean that you could eat off any surface in the house.  Paint any drab rooms and de-clutter! Your house should look almost like a room in a furniture store! Make the beds, shine the sinks and vacumm daily.  The rewards on the other end are worth the effort.
